PROtential Procurement Academy
Interestingly most procurement, supply chain or purchasing specialists will be CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or MCIPS qualified. Many will have gained their procurement experience and specialisms through experience.
We were thinking (that’s the leadership team here) how could we utilise the specialist experience of two of our associates who between them have over 45 years of procurement, supply chain and purchasing experience at very senior levels.
What could we offer in terms of procurement training and what value would it add to the organisation with whom we engage? We continued thinking……we continued exploring……and finally there was a huge explosion!
Well, not quite but the output was rather dramatic!
Whilst we don’t want to write a full prescriptive standard procurement training course ….we’ve come up with some rather exciting soft skills, procurement training outline programme which links nicely into strategy, people growth and of course, bottom line!
Our procurement training guru’s have talked, debated, brain stormed many of their experiences which notably are with world class companies dealing with billions of pounds over time!
The PROtential Procurement Academy is geared towards supporting MCIPS qualifed procurement professionals through their management development and engagement with suppliers and partners, as well as nurturing and develpoping those procurement professionals who sit at buyer or support levels through the stakeholder management, engagement and negotaition processes.
We’ve added to our recipe lots of ingredients for relationship management, engaging with suppliers, emotional intelligence and all of this lovely soft skills leadership stuff that procurement professionals love to work on!
We also thought about the experience that our executive coaches have with procurement professionals. We have worked with construction, logistics and many other business sectors with supply chain specialists and purchasing specialists.
We captured this experience and thought we could add this to our procurement training and supply chain management training too! You see, we think, feel and know that once we’ve gained our formal stamp and qualification, in this case MCIPS or CIPS training, we need to continue our professional development to keep fresh, keep alive and keep driving out costs, adding value to our business, leading from the front and engaging with our stakeholders. The list is endless…
After all of these explosive thoughts and brainstorming sessions, we’ve come up with what we think is a cracking outline for procurement training.
So if you’re reading this thinking you’d like to be part of our team or indeed, you’d like to meet with us to discuss further then now is the time to make contact.
